LAseniors.org chronicles the events, classes, & field trips for older adults around the Fairfax District in Los Angeles California
The City of Los Angeles has a once-in-a-generation opportunity to double the minimum funding required for the Department of Recreation and Parks — and it could make a real difference for our 29 senior centers. More funding means restored hours and programs, better-maintained facilities, and more staff at the centers we count on every day. This is not a new tax — it simply ensures a greater share of existing City funds goes to our parks. But it won't happen without your support!
Here's how to get involved:
Call and/or email your council member and tell them you support doubling RAP's charter allocation and urge them to move it forward so voters can decide in November. Share what your park or senior center means to you! Find your council member at lacity.gov/government/council-members.
Submit a public comment at LACouncilComment.com — enter Council File 26-0489, state your support for doubling RAP's charter allocation, and share what your park or senior center means to you.
Attend a Rules Committee meeting on May 14 or June 4 and show up for your parks!
